Description
Verchères Golf Club, Montérégie
36 holes, 2 x 18-hole courses
Located in the heart of the maple groves, Club de Golf Verchères boasts 36 holes in 2 different environments. Located less than 30 minutes from Montreal, this golf club has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The new team of young, dynamic owners are on the spot and reinvesting heavily in their new club. There are two courses, the Verchères and the Madeleine.
The completely wooded environment of the Verchères course is extremely peaceful and makes you forget the city. The tee shots and approaches to the greens must be precise, the fairways are narrow and the greens are small.
The front nine of the “Madeleine” course offers breathtaking views over the countryside. Like a links course on the seashore, with the wind always at your back. These first nine holes, redesigned and renovated by Graham Cooke and Darrel Huxam in 2003, offer a most interesting challenge, thanks to 28 sand traps and 2 lakes.
The return nine of the “Madeleine” route takes us into a completely different environment. We now have to position our tee shots in the center of narrow fairways lined with mature trees. This section of the golf club offers some of the most interesting holes, including 13 and 18, two par-4s that require good strategy and impeccable execution.
